Turning over the Page to Opening a New Chapter with Raihan Shamsi
Peter Anthony Dindial, Ex-Chief Executive Officer at GPIT, Peter joined GPIT in 2011 and has been a leader in the telecommunications industry for over 24 years. Prior to joining GPIT Peter was the Vice President Mergers and Integration Telenor Asia, Chief Technical Officer Telenor Pakistan, Chief Operational Advisor ProMonte (Telenor Montenegro), General Manager Key Account Management Ericsson Malaysia, Head of Access Networks StarHub Singapore, Head of the City of London Network British Telecom UK. He has been working for Telenor for the last 9 years and has brought GPIT a long way, introducing it to the international market and opening up a subsidiary in USA. Moreover, the turnover has doubled over the time of his staying with GPIT. Further he has brought in a lot of new international partners and ensured good external clients for GPIT to sustain further.
farewell event took place on Saturday, 28 April, 2012 to commemorate Peter time at GPIT. The event took place at GP House Microspectrum. It was a simple ceremony comprising of the employees who were present that day at GP House and it was a nice way of saying goodbye to our now-ex CEO and welcome our new CEO. Our CFO, Kjersti Thoen, spoke and generously moderated the event with wonderful efficacy. The celebration surrounded with cakes and messages for Peter from GPIT employees and the CXOs.
On an end note GPIT cordially welcomes Raihan Shamsi, who has joined GPIT as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 1 May 2012. Mr. Shamsi is replacing Mr. Peter A. Dindial, who would move to a new position in the Telenor Group. Mr. Raihan Shamsi comes from the position of Deputy CEO and CFO of Grameenphone Ltd. and brings with him an extensive managerial and financial experience from Grameenphone and other Multinationals like Shell, Unilever and KPMG. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession and having business experience of more than 14 years.
We wish Peter all the luck for his future endeavors and thank him for everything that he has done for GPIT. Having said that, we turn over a new leaf with our new CEO, Raihan Shamsi, who we hope will guide us to new heights, building on the good work done by Peter.
